Birthday card/old business/silly soon
I've spent most of my art time this week making the above birthday card for my little cousin, who is having a first birthday this month. Big ups, Henry. Look at you. You are big now.
Birthday cards are fun and I've been making a fair amount of them so far this year. I'm thinking about combining them with postcards of the random landscapes I've been painting and starting some kind of card business type of thing. My mother-in-law (hey Diane!) makes these super cool quilted greeting cards and keeps a booth at the farmers' market where she sells them. She has indicated I could perhaps get in on that. What do you think? Would you buy what I'm selling? Just know that whatever your answer is I will never compromise my pursuit... of the perfect greeting card.
The truth is I don't have that much for you today but I did want to close the loop on this week's post whether or not Tif and I look dead in a silly note I made her. The survey, brought to you by google forms, turned out not to load in email and required people to click out to the web version to fill out, which two of you did. Here are those results:
Several more of you wrote, texted or commented to weigh in. My friend Meg opined that we appeared to be looking down at our minions in the castle. "Yeah, sorry man," my friend Galen said, conversely. "You two look pretty dead." He also included this picture, which he thinks would be a solid Pink Floyd album cover and I'm inclined to agree.
Lastly, why not. Here's an unmetered haiku:
My baby has left me
Even my dreams
Are lonely
